Invitation from the Missouri Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Professional Land Surveyors, and Professional Landscape Architects to an Open House Meeting Qualifying for FREE continuing education

The Missouri Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Professional Land Surveyors, and Professional Landscape Architects (Board) invites all architects, professional engineers, professional land surveyors, and professional landscape architects, building code officials, fire protection districts and mayors in and around the St. Charles/St. Louis, Missouri area to meet with the Board on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. in various meeting rooms at the Embassy Suites by Hilton St. Louis/St. Charles located at Two Convention Center Plaza, St. Charles, Missouri. You are cordially invited to attend this session with the Board for the purpose of discussing any items of common interest relative to licensure, enforcement, and regulation of architecture, engineering, land surveying and landscape architecture in the State of Missouri as set forth in Chapter 327, RSMo. If you are interested in current activities of the Board, this would be a good time for you to ask questions and provide personal input. This session qualifies for one (1) CEU, PDH or PDU. (Continuing Education Certificates will be handed out at the Open House.)

***MABOI members attending will have access to the pistol range at a reduced rate of $10 per hour per person. The shot gun range will also be available for trap and skeet at the reduced rate of $6.50 per 25 targets. Feel free to bring your own firearms, ammunition along with hearing and eye protection. Although, the range has also agreed to let us use their rental firearms at no cost. If you need ammunition the range will have it available for purchase. MABOI will provide a catered self-serve meal and beverages to current MABOI members and one guest who have registered to attend by rsvp.

Fannie Mae Clarifies Clear Boarding Policies

Fannie Mae has taken another significant step following its announcement in November that it will reimburse servicers for boarding with polycarbonate in preforeclosure.

Now, Fannie Mae has instructed that clearboarding should be installed on properties already boarded with plywood, or re-glazed/repaired. Servicers have 90 days from the effective date of March 29, 2017 to comply. In addition, a new clearboarding allowable is included in the recent clarification along with a confirmation that SecureView meets Fannie Mae’s requirements as an acceptable clearboarding material.

Fannie Mae has been a leader in supporting the use of polycarbonate clearboarding, and we applaud this decision, that takes effect immediately, that confirms Fannie Mae’s commitment to ban the use of plywood and adopt clearboarding as the only acceptable boarding solution on its properties.
