Training Grants
These grants are given in memory and honor of those that have served their communities as Building Officials, Fire Officials and Inspectors.
Purpose:
To provide one or more training grants under the auspices of the Missouri Association of Building Officials and Inspectors (MABOI) for professional and career development of its members, prospective members, and deserving individuals, at the annual MABOI conference or training seminars, who are unable to obtain necessary funds for the event.
Category of Applicant (Please Select One):
- Clerical: Clerical support staff who serve a municipal government or fire district within the capacity of building or code enforcement.
- Student: College students who are currently enrolled in a college level building program; building/code enforcement program; or design professional program.
- Code Enforcement Staff: Code enforcement staff (or similar) who serves a municipal government, whose duties are principally within the plan review and/or field inspection areas of code enforcement departments.
- Fire Code Enforcement Staff: Fire code enforcement staff who serves a fire department or district jurisdiction, whose duties are principally within the plan review and/or field inspection areas of code enforcement departments.
Eligibility:
All applicants who are currently employed with a government jurisdiction, or fire department or district jurisdiction, or show intentions to join a municipality or fire department or district and be a member of MABOI in good standing, are eligible in accordance with guidelines set forth in this policy.
Applicants in a college-level design professional program or code enforcement program, as well as clerical support staff who are not currently members of MABOI.
Awards:
Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship committee and grants will be awarded based on qualifications and availability.
