The City of Mexico is accepting applications for the position of a full time Building Official. The position is responsible for the issuance of residential and commercial building permits; plan review; performing technical inspection work for the day-to-day completion of structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work for compliance with international building codes; and enforcing city zoning ordinances. Position requires High School graduate and a minimum of five years of experience in building inspection. Graduation from an accredited technical school program or an Associates of Technology degree is preferred. Must have a Building Code Inspector certification. Applicant must have a valid Missouri Driver’s License. Starting salary is $48,318.40.
