Instructor: Bart Alspaugh

Bart Alspaugh is currently a Building Official for Aoka Engineering. Aoka Engineering is a company that
specializes in providing Building Department services which can include Inspection services, Plan Review
services and Building Official Administration services to Local, State and Federal Government agencies.
Bart has been involved in Building Code Enforcement since 2006, having held positions as an Inspector,
Plan Reviewer and Building Official. Prior to working in the Building Code Enforcement industry, Bart
was a construction Superintendent specializing in wood framed structures for ten years. Bart has been
involved in the International Code Council (ICC) code development process as a past member of the
International Building Code: Means of Egress Committee. He has also served on the International
Residential Code Interpretations Committee. Bart is a past member of the Missouri Association of
Building Officials and Inspectors (MABOI) Board of Directors. He holds the Master Code Professional and
Certified Building Official certifications from the ICC. Bart enjoys sharing his passion of the built
environment by conducting seminars regarding various building code topics.
