–POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT–
BUILDING INSPECTOR
BUILDING DEPARTMENT

Salary Range: $46,347 – $65,884 Civilian Pay Grade: 8

FLSA Status: Non Exempt

This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position that includes a full range of benefits including paid
vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, and employee health, dental,
vision, life, disability, and pension programs.

JOB SUMMARY:

The selected candidate will perform complex skilled technical work inspecting properties and
reviewing plans for compliance with City codes, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work
is performed under the limited supervision of the Building/Zoning Administrator. A full job

REQUIREMENTS:

Education Requirement: High school diploma or GED required and extensive experience in
building inspections and plan review. Certifications Required: Certification as an ICC
Residential Inspector, Certified Property Maintenance Inspector. A valid driver’s license is also
required.
