BUILDING INSPECTOR
The City of Bridgeton is accepting applications for the position of Building Inspector. Essential duties and responsibilities include: performing field inspections of residential and/or commercial buildings during various stages of construction and remodeling; ensuring that structures are being constructed in accordance with approved plans and specifications, and in compliance with applicable state and local laws, City ordinances, and codes to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the public.
The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent and possess a Residential Inspector’s Certificate by the International Code Council. A Commercial Building Inspector’s Certificate by the International Code Council must be obtained within twelve months of employment. One to three years of experience is preferred. Salary range for a Building Inspector is $27.31 – $38.37 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
