The City of Bridgeton is accepting applications for the position of Commercial Building Inspector. Essential duties and responsibilities include: performing field inspections of residential and/or commercial buildings during various stages of construction and remodeling; ensuring that structures are being constructed in accordance with approved plans and specifications, and in compliance with applicable state and local laws, City ordinances, and codes (including but not limited to building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, energy, and zoning codes) to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the public.
The successful applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent and possess a certification as a Master Code Professional (MCP), a Certified Building Official (CBO), or a Commercial Combination Inspector by the International Code Council with five or more years of experience in the Commercial Building inspection field. Salary range is $27.31 – $34.86 per hour depending on qualifications and experience plus an excellent benefit package.
