The Building/Combination Inspector serves as the Building Department’s structural, mechanical, site, and plumbing inspector.  This position provides technical and code support to residents, contractors, and the general public.

Salary Range: $47,632 to $66,485, with starting salary to $57,058.50 depending on qualifications and experience plus an excellent benefit package.

Job Opportunity – Part-time Building Inspector | City of Lake Saint Louis

Starting Pay: $21.70/hr

This is a part-time position, averaging 29 hours per week. Work schedule has some flexibility, but will generally be between the hours of 8:00AM and 5:00 PM M-F. Position does not include
full benefits, however does include some paid time off and sick leave.

Job Description:

This position is responsible primarily for conducting structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing inspections of new residential construction.

The successful candidate for this position will:
 Inspect building projects during all phases of construction to ensure compliance with applicable codes and ordinances.
 Responds to inquiries and complaints from contractors and the general public regarding construction and inspection issues.
 Performs other related duties as assigned.


 High school diploma or equivalent
 Minimum of 3 years building inspection experience
 Possession of a valid Missouri drivers license.

Acceptable Substitutions or Minimums for Education and Experience:

Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

Job Opportunity – Temporary Part-time Building Inspector | City of Ballwin

The City of Ballwin has an opening for a part-time Building Inspector.  This temporary position will work approximately 20 hours a week for 4 – 6 months and be tasked with helping to close out old, expired building permits.  It is preferred that the successful candidate has passed at least two of the ICC Residential Inspector tests, including the Residential Building.  Equivalent training or experience will be considered.  The hourly wage is $24.26.

Tamara will also be taking orders for t-shirts for those that will be volunteering. Attached is a layout of the volunteer shirt. As you sign up to volunteer, please let Tamara know your shirt size. Please keep in mind that volunteers can attend all of the events associated with the ABM except for those with meals, such as luncheons and the awards dinner. ICC is willing to offer us a reduce rate for meals but we will need to turn a head count prior to the ABM for this. “
