CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER JOB NOTICE

Due to retirement, the City of Crestwood is seeking candidates for the position of Code
Enforcement Officer. This position performs daily inspection of the exterior of residential,
commercial/industrial properties for possible City Code violations. Responds to reports of
violations of the City Code in regard to residential and commercial/industrial properties. Duties
include the coordination and enforcement of City ordinances, rules and regulations pertaining to
all exterior maintenance of residential and commercial/industrial properties. Administer the
Sanitary Sewer Lateral Insurance Program and other permits. Referral of code violations to the
Crestwood Municipal Court. Regular interaction with the City Prosecutor, Court Administrator,
elected officials and City staff. Occasional evening and weekend hours.

Applicants must have a minimum 3 years’ experience in Code Enforcement or closely related
field. High school education or equivalent; some college preferred .Knowledge of International
Property Maintenance Code and regulations helpful .Experience in Microsoft office applications,
including Outlook, Word, and Excel. A valid driver’s license (possession of CDL or chauffer’s
license a plus) in state in which employee resides. ICC Certification in Property Maintenance or
ability to become certified in 12 months. The salary range is $39,000- $51,575.
Starting salary range for this position is $39,000-$41,000.
