The City of O’Fallon, Missouri, consistently named as one of the “Best Places to Live” by Money magazine and as one of the “Safest Cities in America” by CQ Press, is seeking a Building and Code Enforcement Manager. This position manages the City’s building inspection, code enforcement, building plan review and permitting operations.

Primary responsibilities include supervising and directing building inspection and code enforcement personnel; coordinating scheduling, field inspections and reporting; overseeing staff to ensure efficient and productive operations; driving process improvements and spearheading implementation of new technologies. This position will also act as mediator to address problems or issues with customers related to permitting, inspections, and code enforcement processes, and will work with other divisions and departments to promote coordination and ensure a transparent and efficient process across all City agencies. Ideal qualifications include a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field and five (5) to seven (7) years of experience with at least three (3) of those years of experience in management and supervision of staff, or equivalent combination. In addition, possession of or ability to readily obtain the appropriate certifications for the type of inspections conducted is required.
